We partnered with the Office of the Louisiana Governor to transform the Governor’s Mansion into a digital destination that honors its history, expands access statewide, and invites every Louisianan into a home that belongs to them.

The Mansion’s Aesthetic
The Louisiana Governor’s Mansion is an active residence for the First Family, but it also stands as a symbol of Louisiana's history and leadership. Still, known as the “People’s Home,” it was largely inaccessible. Physical tours are limited, historical context lived in fragments, and the Mansion’s story, stretching from Jimmy Davis’s term to modern-day civic life, couldn’t reach classrooms or curious eyes across the state and country.
Our challenge was to translate a living, working home into a digital experience that could preserve historical integrity without feeling frozen in time.
The Mansion Is a Home, Not a Monument
We approached this project with the goal of creating a virtual tour that not only allowed people to explore the Mansion, but also help all residents understand it’s significance in Louisiana’s History.
Rather than centering the building itself, we centered belonging. This is the people’s home, and the experience needed to feel welcoming and easy to navigate for third-graders, history buffs, and everyone in between.

Discovery Should Replace Gatekeeping
Most people don’t arrive knowing what room they want to explore in the home. The site needed to invite exploration, not demand prior knowledge.
We designed for curiosity first, driving users naturally from space to story to context. The site also includes a virtual guest book so all visitors can jot their name down in a piece of Louisiana history.
A Living History at the Touch of a Button
The Mansion’s story doesn’t stop at its construction date. It evolves with every administration, restoration, and cultural shift. This meant building not just a front-end experience, but a content system that could grow, adapt, and support future storytelling without rework.
Using Webflow, we’ve made it easy for the Office of the Governor's team to remove tour points and artifacts and add new information with just a few clicks!

In-House Production, End to End
All photography and video were captured by Aisle 3, ThreeSixtyEight’s in-house production arm. Working on-site at the Mansion, the team documented spaces with care and intention, producing high-resolution visuals purpose-built for the interactive tour.

This project transformed the Governor’s Mansion from a place most Louisianans would never visit into one they can experience on their own terms.
This project transformed the Governor’s Mansion from a place most Louisianans would never visit into one they can experience on their own terms.
The Mansion now lives beyond its gates: in classrooms and communities across the state. History feels approachable. Civic leadership feels human. And access is no longer limited by geography or scheduling.
For ThreeSixtyEight, this project reinforced what we believe at our core:Digital experiences aren’t just about usability. They’re about stewardship. Of stories. Of trust. Of the people they’re built for.
