A short story about the company and some news about change

Stay in the know

Thoughts from the March 2025 TSE newsletter; written by Jeremy Beyt, CEO.

Change is rarely comfortable but usually good.

9 years ago, ThreeSixtyEight was born from an unlikely merger between Big Fish Presentations and Hatchit. Our offices were 368 feet apart, we called it “Operation ThreeSixtyEight,” it stuck.

At the time of the merger in 2016, ThreeSixtyEight was this company's FOURTH name and iteration (there’s a joke in there about a branding company with an identity crisis). There was no grand strategy - we were fueled by passion for the work and a healthy helping of naivety - our business plan was “it will work, or it won’t.”

Fortunately, it worked.

Looking back at our journey, every moment of change creates energy within our team. Mergers, tech disruptions, winning (and losing) big clients… they create “rally cycles.” There’s a moment of fear and uncertainty, people step up to fill the need, we end up better than we started.

We’ve recently gone through one of these moments of change, and we’re now enjoying a rally cycle where our workflows are cleaner and our team is closer. Through this evolution, we learned (or relearned) a few things:

  • More people won’t solve your problems. Bigger teams can quickly dilute creativity and slow productivity. It’s a real thing. Before adding someone new, stop and ask: "If it were only me here, what would be my next three steps?”
  • Teams do better when they understand the numbers. This year, we’ve opened the books and brought our team closer to the finances than ever before. It’s led to sharper decisions, higher ownership, and a healthier bottom line.
  • Real leadership is asking for help. When we openly ask for support, we signal to everyone that growth comes from humility, not heroics. You might be surprised at how many people show up to support you when you ask for help.

Change keeps showing up. And every time, it teaches us something new and helps us get a little better. Thanks for being on the journey with us.
